John Albert Warren, 74, McLeansboro, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
He was born in McLeansboro on Dec. 5, 1933, the son of Andrew J. and Merinda Francis (Ritcheson) Warren. He married Mildred Ila Cantrell on May 2, 1958, in McLeansboro. He was a truck driver.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Revs. Gary Nalley and Wilford Musgraves officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with masonic services provided by Polk Lodge 137 AF & AM at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
John was a member of Mt. Olivet General Baptist Church in McLeansboro. He was a member of Polk Lodge 137 AF & AM., McLeansboro; Scottish Rite Consistory in Belleville.; and Ainad Temple, Shriners of East St. Louis. John loved woodworking.
John is survived by his wife, Mildred Warren of McLeansboro; three sons,Tony Warren of McLeansboro, Brad Warren of McLeansboro and John Wesley and wife Reggie, Dahlgren; four grandchildren, Brittani Marie Warren, Jarret Wesley Warren, Tyler John Warren and Riley David Warren; one sister-in-law, Teresa Campbell of Mc-Leansboro; three brothers-in-law, Morris Cantrell of Mc-Leansboro, Kenneth D. Cant-rell and wife Phyllis of Dale and Ronnie Cantrell and wife Susie of Dale; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
