Lucretia T. Cocke

Lucretia T. Cocke, 86, McLeansboro, passed away at 9:05 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at McLeansboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in McLeansboro on Oct. 1, 1921, a daughter of William Benson Wheeler and Flora Woolsey. She married Raymond “Shorty” Cocke in April 1941 in Jackson, Mo., and he preceded her in death in August 1991. Lucretia was employed in clerical and secretary work for many years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lucretia is survived by a son, Richard Dean Cocke and wife Jeannine of McLeansboro; three grandchildren, Rick Cocke and wife Stacy of McLeansboro, Lisa Wielt and husband Bruce of Mt. Vernon and Erika Grubb and husband Brad of McLeansboro; a sister, Dorothy Allen of McLeansboro; six great-grandchildren, Jason, Alex, Hollie, Lindsey, Corrie and Leslie; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Bettie Jo Page; and one brother, Bill Wheeler.
Lucretia was a member of First Baptist Church in McLeansboro. She was a WADI Board member for over 40 years and a member of Hamilton County Queenpins Bowling League for many years.
Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
