Shane Michael Holsey

Shane Michael Holsey, 30, of Dahlgren, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Versaille, as a result of a vehicle accident.

He was born on Dec. 19, 1977, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Robert W. and Marietta Louise (Karcher) Holsey, and they survive in Dahlgren.

Mr. Holsey is also survived by a son, Trent Rubenacker of Belle Rive; a brother, Adam Shea Holsey of Dahlgren; a grandmother, Odelia Karcher of McLeans-boro; grandparents, James Holsey and wife Clare of Evansville, Ind.; four paternal uncles; three paternal aunts; two maternal uncles; and two maternal aunts.

He was preceded in death by and uncle, Keith Karcher and a grandfather, Robert Karcher.

Mr. Holsey was a laborer and worked in the construction industry. He loved camping and being outdoors with his son Trent and friends. He was currently attending an apprenticeship program with Laborer Union 1197 of McLeansboro in Mt. Sterling.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Sunday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Terry Savage officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Dahlgren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
