Rose Randall

We mourn the loss of our beloved Rosella, but celebrate her life in passing on to be with her Heavenly Father, for eternity.



Rose Randall, 88, of Bluford, died at 7:20 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009 at her home.



She was born Nov. 16, 1920, in Mason County, Michigan to John and Ethel (Johnston) Silvis. She married Guy Randall on Nov. 27, 1941. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1973.



She worked for Farrar Oil Company for 17 years. She was a caregiver for several years. She worked at Nature Trail Nursing Home as a cook for several years. She also worked on the farm with her husband. She was a member of Howards Chapel Community Church.



She is survived by five children, Guy Randall Jr. and wife Carolyn of O’Fallon, Dale Randall and wife Brenda of Mt. Vernon, Lois Smith of Benton, Darrell Randall and wife Ruth Ann of Bluford and Karen Winternheimer and husband Terry of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren, Roger Brent Randall, Amber Sue Crawford, Roger Dale Randall, Carl Smith, Katherine Randall, Darrell Ray Randall and Toni Hines; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Rose Randall, Kaleigha Sue Crawford, Miranda Smith and Liza Randall; one great-granddaughter soon to be born; and one sister, Hazel Hansen of Michigan.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter, Twila Sue Randall; one great-granddaughter, Carly Marie Smith; two brothers, Jack and Lavern; and two sisters, Grace and Alice.





Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Eddie Wheeler officiating. Interment will be in the Smith Cemetery in Belle Rive.



Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Howards Chapel Community Church.
