Eva Buchanan
Eva Mae Buchanan, 77, of Maryville, and formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She was born in Guthrie on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1932, a daughter of Leo and Stella Mabel (Clark) Hoy.
Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at Olive Branch Cemetery in Wayne County with Mr. Randy Sells and Mr. J. Howard Kraps officiating. Interment will follow.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by three daughters, Lela Seymour and husband Ed of Wayne City, Linda Hunt and husband Howard of Wayne City and Rita Walker of Mt. Vernon; stepmother, Anna Margaret Hoy of Indiana; two half-sisters, Mary and Margaret; two half-brothers, Leo Hoy of Texas and Frank Hoy and wife Debbie of Indiana; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, grandparents and the family’s beloved pet, “Sadie,” preceded her in death.
Eva Mae cleaned homes for people, was a member of Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon and a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class that called church members when they were shut-ins.
