Edna Keef

Edna E. Keef, 81, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.



She was born in Jefferson County on Friday, March 9, 1928, a daughter of William E. and Emma H. (Beauford) Brown. She married Edgar L. Keef in January 1947 in Morganfield, Ky., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2002.



Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson County with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow.



Mrs. Keef is survived by four daughters, Sue Smith and husband Marshall of Mt. Vernon, Ruth Ann Keef of Mt. Vernon, Helen P. Klevorne and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon and Karen Jean Howell of Mt. Vernon; a son, Robert L. Keef and wife Becky of Bluford; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.



Her parents; her husband; two brothers; two sisters; and one daughter, Sharon Carlton, preceded her in death.



Edna was a Tupperware consultant.
