Ronald W. Hood, 66, of Salem, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at his home in Salem.
He was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Kell, to Noel “Pete” Hood and Edna (Boyles) Hood.
Ronald married Darenda Hood and they later divorced; she survives in Joliet. He later married Linda (Marshall) Hood on Aug. 23, 1996, and she survives in Salem.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cindy Cronin and husband Joe of Joliet; a son, Jeff Hood and wife Alissia of Braidwood; stepchildren Jan Kissner and Bobby Marshall; grandchildren Connor and Kaelyn Cronin and Tyler and Atiana Hood; niece, Deanna Long and husband Mark; and nephew, Steven Decker and wife Laurie.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Decker.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
Ronald worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Joliet and retired in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman.
Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.
