Robert “Bob” Karch, Sr., 69, of rural Bluford, died 3:36 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his home in rural Bluford.
He was born April 4, 1944, in Mt. Vernon, the son of George Dewey Karch and Alice Bernice (Trammel) Karch. He married Theresa Fleener on June 14, 1992, in Mt. Vernon.
Bob was supervisor of maintenance at Frontier Kemper Construction until retiring in 2004.
He is survived by wife, Theresa Karch of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Robert Lee Karch, Jr. and wife Carla of Owensboro, Ky. and Carl J. McWhirter, III and wife Mary of Greenfield, Ind.; four daughters, Angel Mason and husband Robby of Bluford, Megan Balderson and husband Josh of Clearwater, Fla., Sherri Hess and husband Mitch of Richland, Va. and Shelly Allen and husband Junior of Hurley, Va.; grandchildren, Brock Karch, Courtney Webb, Kaci Mason, Bryana Hess, Kyle Mason, Kori Allen, A.J. McWhirter and Dillion McWhirter; stepgrandchildren, Anita and Nicholas; four sisters, Donna Huston, Sandy McConhay, Barbara Maxham and husband Jim and Jevita Kinkead and husband Loyd; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Krystal Karch; and brother-in-law, Geroge R. Huston.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Richard Pearce officiating. Mr. Karch will be cremated following the funeral service.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
