Mildred L. (Taylor) Book Ward, 91, of Bethany, passed away 1:30 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Mason Point, Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany, with the Rev. Dawn Anderson officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Bethany. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kirk Cemetery, Ina.
Memorials may be made to the Kirk Cemetery, Mason Point Activity Fund or to the donor’s choice.
Mildred was born May 1, 1921, in Bonnie, the daughter of William LeRoy and Lora Ocie (Kniffen) Taylor. Mildred married Gale W. Book Feb. 27, 1936. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1970. She married Edward “Eddie” Ward Sept. 27, 1986. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1997.
She was a member of the Sullivan Church of God and was retired from the Masonic Home.
Mildred is survived by her sons, Roy (Marilyn) Book of Sullivan, Don (Betty) Book of Sullivan, Marvin (Cheryl) Book of Sullivan, Sam (Flo) Book of Kissimmee, Fla., Ed (Millie) Book of Cockeysville, Md., Harry Book of Riverton and Bob (Linda) Book of Bethany; daughters, Rose (Steve Hess) Denton of Montreal, Mo., Velma (Ken) Thomason of St. Elmo, Alma (Steve) Ayers of Milton, Pa. and Patty (Keith) Hines of Dalton City; stepsons, Wayne (Joann) Ward of Camargo and John (Barb) Ward of Mt. Zion; stepdaughters, Pauline Bly of Bethany and Rosalee (Larry) Hostettler of Mt. Zion; and sister, Juanita Jones of Lewiston, Idaho. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, Chester Taylor; son, Richard Lee “Dickie” Book; and grandsons, Paul Denton and Craig Ayers.
