Mary F. Taylor, 72, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at White Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
Mrs. Taylor was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Ashley, the daughter of Howard and Wilma (Moran) Whittaker.
Mary was a beautician for over 40 years. She was also a member of the Eagles.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by one son, J.R. (Hanley) Tilley and wife Meredith of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Angie Scheppel and husband Don of Mt. Vernon; five granddaughters, Stephanie Harness of Waltonville, Heather Hall and husband Adam of Mt. Vernon, Audrey Mayo of Mt. Vernon, Emily Mayo of Mt. Vernon and Katelyn Tilley of Mt. Vernon; two great-grandchildren, great-grandson, Jayton Harness and great-granddaughter, Tawneley Hall, one great-grandson soon to arrive, Easton Hall; sister, Merilyn Hogan and husband Ed of Carbondale; sister, Sandy Whittaker of Texas; brother, Jim Whittaker and wife Maryann of Florida; sister, Judy Morgan and husband Tom of Ashley; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ronnie Jackson and Linda Roswell.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Ina.
