Frances Ritchason, 89, of McLeansboro and formerly of Macedonia, died 3 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro.
She was born March 14, 1924, in Cleveland, the daughter of John C. and Effie M. (Cole) Lee. She married Paul Eugene Ritchason on Jan. 18, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1999.
She worked for the defenders system at General Tire from 1974 to 1985.
She is survived by son, Kenneth (wife Teresa) Ritchason of Radom; grandchildren, Paul Ritchason of Benton, James (wife Rachel) Ritchason of Clarmin, Shawn (wife Amanda) Chesnek of Dubois, Kami (husband J.R.) Fairchild of Waltonville, Jordan Chesnek of Radom, Crystal (husband Mike) Montgomery of Sesser and Daniel Dover of West Frankfort; great-grandchildren, Brenden Ritchason of Benton, Emily Ritchason of Clarmin, Katilyn Ritchason of Clarmin and Skylynn Montgomery of Sesser; siblings, Mr. Virgil Lee of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Edna Gordon of Gary, Ind.; and special friends, Shawn Harris and Wayne Berry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandchild, Keith Dover; and two sisters, Blanche Shaw and Leona Sanders.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Harold Hungate officiating. Interment will be Antioch Cemetery near Macedonia.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
