Bessie Marie Hodge, 72, of Camdenton, Mo., formerly of Marshall, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in Memorial Specialty Hospital at Lufkin, Texas.
She was born July 29, 1941, in Marshall, the daughter of Albert Carpenter Sr. and Laura M. Birchfield Carpenter.
She is survived by her soul mate, Jim Redman of Camdenton, Mo.; her children, Leanna Lynn (significant other Warren Ryan) of West Alton, Mo., David (Alta) Stockton of Bourbon, Mo. and Lori (Ben) Falls of Ash Fork, Ariz.; the children of Jim Redman, Brian (Jackie) Redman of Demorest, Ga. and Eric (Amanda) Redman of Camdenton, Mo.; a brother, Albert “Jake” (Sharon) Carpenter of Dennison; grandchildren, T.J., Amanda, David Jr., Crystal and Sean; the grandchildren of Jim Redman, Caleb and Myles; a stepdaughter, Sandra Hodge-Minton of St. Charles, Mo.; and a niece and a nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce; a husband, Al Hodge; and a stepson, Mike Hodge.
She was a member of the B.P.O.E. Auxiliary at St. Charles, Mo., and was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School. Bessie loved to cook for others and she especially loved her family. She loved to travel and had homes in the Lake of the Ozarks, Texico and Milam, Texas. She was a true and loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Services in honor and respect to her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home at Marshall with the Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery, rural Marshall.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior services at the funeral home on Saturday.
