Charles Horton

---- — Charles Edward “Bugs” Horton, 73, of Warwick R.I., died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Kent Memorial Hospital in Warwick, R.I.

He was born Jan. 2, 1940, in Belle Rive, the son of Ross and Merea (Richardson) Horton. His parents proceeded him in death.

He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and attended Baylor University in San Antonio, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Southern Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sisters, Betty and husband Johnnie Purcell, Aleta and husband Robert Loehr all of Salem and Ruthie and husband Kenneth Karcher of Dahlgren; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles worked for Lane Jewelers in Providence, R.I.

In honor of Mr. Horton’s wishes, cremation was chosen and a private family service was held at the Belle Rive Flint Cemetery on Friday, Dec. 13.
