Stanley Wells

---- — Stanley H. Wells, 93, of Celina, Tenn. and a former Ina resident, passed away at Celina Health Care and Rehab Center on Dec. 16, 2013.

He was born in Bonnie on Sept. 27, 1920, the son of James and Grace (Johnston) Wells. He married Louise Summers on Dec. 26, 1945, and she survives.

He was a member of the Church of God. He attended the Bonnie Church of God for 23 years. He was a Christian. He retired from General Motors where he worked for 30 years. He had been retired for 28 years. He served his country in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Wells is survived by two children, Gloria Schmitz of Celina, Tenn. and Mark Wells and wife Thersa of Fredericksburg, Va.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Wells and wife Janet of Ina and James Wells and wife Betty of Myrtle Point, Ore.

Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karen Sharp; one great-grandchild; one brother, Carl Wells; and four sisters, Velma Lee Rhynes, Lorene Osborn, Wilma Shaffer and Joann Leffler.

Funeral services for Mr. Wells will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Jack Gatson officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Military rites will be performed at the cemetery by Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
