---- — Lenda Lou Scott, 76, of Waltonville, died 3:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Saturday, Nov. 20, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Byford Raymond and Dorotha Bell (Harvill) Malin. She married William Daniel Scott on Aug. 21, 1954, in Mt. Vernon.
Lenda was a homemaker. She loved going to rummage sales. She was a member of the Christian faith. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and a friend to many more.
She is survived by her husband, William Daniel Scott of Waltonville; four sons, William Randell Scott of Mt. Vernon, Michael Raymond Scott, Sr. of Dix, Jeffrey Daniel Scott of Mt. Vernon and John Todd Scott and Amy Renee of Waltonville; daughter, Raena Earlene Scott of Waltonville; five grandchildren, Alicia Raena Meadows and husband Curtis of Mt. Vernon, Michael Raymond Scott, II and special friend Brya Denae Irvin of Woodlawn, Hillary Renee Keip and husband Sean of Woodlawn, Randi Len Scott and special friend Eric Gordzelik of Bonnie and Hallie Elizabeth Scott of Waltonville; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lane Meadows, Lexie Marie Webb, Kyla Mae Lynn Brehm and Shyloh Rane Meadows; two sisters, Anita Merlene Kisner of Mt. Vernon and Phyllis Jean Davis and husband Don of Mt. Vernon; brother, Tommy Raymond and Audra Malin of Mt. Vernon; aunt, Mary Lou Jester and husband James of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Glenda Mae Johnston; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernice Aline and William Earl Scott.
In honor of her wishes, Lenda will be cremated following the visitation. Interment of cremated remains will be at Black Cemetery in Waltonville at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
