Larry Lee Springer, age 73, of Iuka, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Larry was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Allen County, Ind., the son of Ervin and Gladys (Reichard) Springer. He married Sandra Stanford Feb. 14, 1975, and she survives at in Iuka.
Mr. Springer was a retired laborer and farmer. He served his country in the United States Army in the 1960s. He was a private person, preferring the company of his family that he loved dearly and his close friends and neighbors.
In addition to his wife Sandra, Mr. Springer is also survived by three daughters, Brenda Bullock and husband Mark of Muncie, Ind., Lori Geels and husband Dave of Decatur, Ind. and Elizabeth Springer and fiance Robert McCalla of Iuka; one son, Larry Lee Springer II and wife Michelle of Kell; grandsons, Mark and Zack; granddaughters, Shiloh, Aundrea and Chelsea; great-grandsons, Mason and Konnor; great-granddaughters, Chyann and Avah; father-in-law, Irvin Stanford of Iuka; brother-in-law, Eugene Stanford and wife Cathy of Woodlawn; sister-in-law, Susan Beighley and husband Brett of Texico; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
A gathering of friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the L. R. Osborn & Son Funeral Home in Kell.
