Judith Lois Hooker, 70, of Smiths Grove, Ky., and formerly of McLeansboro, died 7:19 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at her home.
She was born Jan. 27, 1943, in McLeansboro, the daughter of John Wilson and Geneva (Deitz) Mezo. She married Troy Hooker; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Marlene) Mezo of Carbondale and Kevin (Tabitha) Hooker of Owensboro, Ky.; her daughters, Kristina (Leslie) Coop of Smiths Grove, Ky., Angela Bright of Smiths Grove, Ky., and Lynn Hooker of Smiths Grove, Ky.; three brothers, John W. Mezo of McLeansboro, James Mezo of Cuba, Mo., and Bob Mezo of McLeansboro; a sister, Nancy Markle of Wheeling, W. Va.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She was a retired home health worker.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Randy Butler officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
