---- — Neva Sue Periman, 73, of Dix, formerly of Decatur, died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Green Tree at Mt. Vernon following an eight year battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Centralia, daughter of Lyle and Jewell (Foutch) Bundy. She married Larry E. Periman on Nov. 4, 1961, at Little Grove Christian Church.

Mrs. Periman is survived by her husband of 52 years; two daughters, Teresa L. Acker and husband Mitch of Dallas and Ellen S. Levey and husband Steve of Edwardsville; six grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Bundy and wife Karen of Orlando, Fla.; and a sister, JoAnn Barrow of Centralia.

Mrs. Periman was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Darrell Kent Bundy.

Mrs. Periman was proud of her years attending the Marion County one-room school called Oniontown. When Oniontown closed, she attended Franklin School where her Uncle Howard Bundy was principal. She later graduated from Centralia Township High School and Junior College.

She did office work at Montgomery Ward in Centralia until her marriage when she moved to Decatur. She was at home with her daughters while they were young but later worked in various offices primarily in bookkeeping. After her working days she was a volunteer at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

While in Decatur she was an active member of Northwest Christian Church. She enjoyed doing genealogy research, gardening, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

She returned to Dix in 2004, and helped design and build her retirement home. She was a member of Little Grove Christian Church, which is the church of her childhood.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with Lyle Bundy and Ronald Periman officiating. Interment will follow at Little Grove Cemetery in Walnut Hill.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Little Grove Cemetery and will be accepted at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix which is in charge of arrangements.
