Eleanor Noel, 79, of McLeansboro, died 1:44 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro.
She was born Sept. 2, 1933, in Kapoho, Hawaii, daughter of Melchor and Rose aka Kanoa. She was married to Robert Noel and he survives.
She worked over 20 years as a department manager of the K-Mart store in Elgin. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in McLeansboro.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Noel of Oxnard, Calif.; daughters, Leona L. (husband Mark) Novak of S. Elgin, Darlene C. (husband Gary) Hammann of Peyton, Colo., Donna M. (husband Tim) Johnson of McLeansboro and Lynetta A. (husband David) Fleck of McLeansboro; six sisters; four brothers; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gholson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald (Andy) May officiating. Graveside service with full military honors will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mounds City National Cemetery in Mounds.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. tonight at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
