Harold Wayne Wilson, 71, of Woodlawn, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Harold was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Woodlawn, the son of Howard O. and Stella Louise “Tootie” (Thompson) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a salesman for Office Furniture Warehouse in Mt. Vernon. He also had worked for Kmart and Sears. He was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church.
He is survived by his mother, Stella “Tootie” Wilson of Woodlawn; daughters, Julie Wilson and special friend Bill Craver of Centralia and Susan Decker and husband Curtis of Woodlawn; son, Dan Wilson and wife Jennifer of Mt. Vernon; sister, Dorothy Marie Lawrence and husband Larry of Marion; special friend Pat Work of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Mike Coleman and fiance Amanda Hall of Mt. Vernon, Steven Coleman of Woodlawn, Doug Junkins and wife Shana of St. Louis, Alex “Tank” Junkins and special friend Mindy Goss of Woodlawn and Samuel Wilson of Mt. Vernon; three great-grandchildren, Titus Junkins, Clayton Junkins and Jackson Kirkpatrick; four aunts, Lillie White, Annie White, Helen Thorpe and Mary Douthit; and several nices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard O. Wilson; paternal grandparents, Ed and Anna (Witzel) Wilson; and his maternal grandparents, William and Mary (Dykstra) Thompson.
Private family interment will be held at a later date in the Andereck McClelland Cemetery in Sandoval.
