Cathy Diane Ratcliff Baker, 58, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Fairfield, died 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her home in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Tuesday, April 19, 1955, in Fairfield, the daughter of Carson and Katherine (Desch) Baker.
Cathy was a bookkeeper for Lay’s Mining Services in Mt. Vernon. She was a member, a Sunday school teacher and a soup kitchen volunteer at Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. She loved being a grandmother.
She is survived by her mother, Katherine Baker of Fairfield; three sons, Nathan Ratcliff and wife Misty of Nashville, Tenn., Andrew Ratcliff and wife Amanda of Mt. Vernon and Christopher Ratcliff of Carbondale; grandson, Clayton Ratcliff; three granddaughters, Kaylie and Alaina Ratcliff and Cara Galyon; brother, Carson Baker and wife Kelli of Fairfield; sister, Susan Erdman and husband Doug of Lafayette, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield with Mr. Ray Culver officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
