Judith G. Patterson, 91, of Mt. Vernon, died 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Friday, Dec. 15, 1922, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of David Guy and Allie H. (Cravens) Carnahan. She married Burrel L. Patterson on Oct. 30, 1948, in Mt. Vernon and he preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1976.
Judith was a clerical worker in the Jefferson County States Attorney’s office before her retirement. She was a member of Meadowbrook Christian Church.
She is survived by son, Thomas L. Patterson and wife Mary N. of Gillette, Wyo.; granddaughter, Shanyon K. Carter and husband Christopher of Fairview Heights; and great-granddaughter, Cassady Eliza Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, David Marsden.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens chapel in Woodlawn with Mr. Michael Sheets officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens chapel in Woodlawn.
