William Rosco “Bill” Miller, Sr., 67, of Mt. Vernon, died 4:47 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at his home in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Friday, May 31, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Ulysses and Betty L. (Pigg) Miller.
Bill worked as a drywall finisher in the construction industry and enjoyed fishing throughout Southern Illinois lakes.
He is survived by two daughters, Penelope Fuller of Mt. Vernon and Rachel (Gray) Young and husband Mike of Mt. Vernon; son, William “Bill” Miller, Jr. and wife Amanda of Carterville; three brothers, Willard Gene Miller and wife Bonnie of Mt. Vernon, Roger Miller and wife Barbara of Mt. Vernon and Jerry Miller of Wayne City; two sisters, Rennia Miller of Alabama and Nancy Braddy and husband Albert of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Angela Miller; and one brother, Lester Miller.
In honor of Bill’s wishes, he was cremated and private memorial services will be held at a later date.
