---- — Harold Elmer Price, 97, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah in Paducah, Ky.
He was born Sunday, Jan. 7, 1917, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Elmer T. and Edith (Oliver) Price. He married Thelma Lemay on April 8, 1938, in Mt. Vernon. Harold served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a machinist at Union Carbide in Paducah, Ky., for 25 years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Paducah, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Lemay Price of Paducah, Ky.; two daughters, Judy Calhoun of Anchorage, Alaska and Jean Henderson and husband John of Columbia, Mo.; son, James Price and wife Kathleen of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Border of O’Fallon, Mo. and Pat Cox of Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Judith Melody Davis; one brother, Burrell Price; and two sisters, Doris McGuire and Dorothy Dement. Committal service will immediately follow the visitation and will be held at Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County with the Rev. Brian Hall officiating. Interment will be at Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
