---- — Arvil A. Daily, 97, of Granite City, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

He was born July 13, 1916, in Hamilton, the son of Steve A. and Nora V. (Johnson) Daily. He married Edna Mae (Seng) Lamb, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are his children: Patricia (Michael) Turck of Granite City, Betty (Gary) Ambrose of Granite City and James R. Daily of Granite City; grandchildren, Michael S. (Brenda) Turck, Dennis W. (Mary) Turck, Rene (Dave) Jnes, Kelly (Angie) Ambrose, Lisa (Tony) Daily and Joseph Turck.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter, Shirley Mayberry; sister, Rella Patterson; brothers, Clarence Daily, Amvel Daily, Walter Daily, Jim Daily and Clint Daily.

Arvil worked at Dow Chemical as a pipefitter. He was a member of Granite City Masonic Lodge 877 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine, University Chapel 231 O.E.S. - Creve Cour, Mo., Harmony Chapter 112 W.S.J. and Amaranth. He was a United States World War II Navy veteran.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Karrus Funeral Home in Belleville with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Entombment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fairview Heights.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. A masonic service will be held at 12:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.
