In 1969, she married Kermit Newell in a private ceremony at her daughter Maxine’s home. Lucille and Kerm had many wonderful years together; with family, going out for Tom Raymond’s fish sandwiches or Maid-Rites, traveling, gardening and taking care of the orchard until Kerm’s passing in 1977.
Lucille,”Grandma, Grandma Lucy”, will be remembered for her strong-willed, hard-working, never- give- up approach to life (she could give just as hard as she would get), her zest for life (she would try almost anything once), her wonderful sense of humor, her “smack your Grandma” cooking, her strong Christian faith and her love and devotion for her family and friends. She will be forever missed. The family would like to extend a debt of gratitude to the staff at Stonebridge for their love and care they have shown our family and grandma.
