Virginia Ruth Clark Hart, 84, of Dahlgren, passed away 11:05 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She was born March 1, 1929, in Dahlgren, the daughter of Charlie Thomas Clark and Rosa Lea Miller. She married Thomas Gabe Hart on Dec. 23, 1944, in McLeansboro, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2000.
She was a homemaker. She was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed embroidering and made quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and made fantastic cakes. Everyone enjoyed her homemade baked goods.
She is survived by three daughters, Diana Rose Reyling and husband Andy of Dahlgren, Cindy Hart Behle and husband Eric of Marion and Leesa Michele Schuster and husband Scott of McLeansboro; three sons, Russell Wayne Hart and wife Charlene of Dahlgren, Michael Lee Hart and wife Angela of Opdyke and Thomas Gabe (Tee) Hart of Dahlgren; six grandchildren, Brandon Reyling, Melissa Epperson, Andrea Cross, Adam Hart, Christina Hart and Reegan Schuster; 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Madison and Olivia Reyling, Derrick and Cade Epperson, Grady Cross, Dalton, Ireland and Dreydyn Hart and Jolee and Eva Schuster; two brothers-in-law, Evan and Norma Hart of Dahlgren and Kenny and Floann Hart of McLeansboro; three sisters-in-law, Joan Hart of Blue Island, Verla Anderson of Bloomington and Sue Hart of Dahlgren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabe Hart.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
