Marjorie Jean McBride, 77, of Mesa, Ariz. and formerly of Dix, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, in Phoenix.
She was born in East St. Louis on March 11, 1937, the daughter of Jules Fred Kelley and Anna Mae (Digby) Kelley. On Sept. 10, 1954, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she married Robert Gene McBride and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2000.
Marjorie attended Mt. Vernon Township High School and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela McBride Alemond and husband James of Trenton; a son, Timothy McBride of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Draper Scott McBride of Houston and Amber Dawn (Hocking) Fitzpatrick of Breese; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Kelley of Brentwood, Tenn. and James Kelley of South Elgin; and two sisters, JoAnn Feegle of St. Louis and Betty Deckman of San Diego.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Gene McBride Jr.; and a brother, Paul Kelley.
As per her wishes, her body was cremated and a private burial of her cremains will take place at a later date at Zion Grove (County Line) Cemetery.
