Visitation was held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
Bob entered into service with the United States Army Air Corps on July 7, 1944. He was honorably discharged at Fort Meade, Md., on Oct. 16, 1946.
Bob worked in hardware sales for over 40 years. First, he worked as a sales representative for Belknap Hardware in Louisville, Ky. After working for Belknap Hardware, he took a job with Curtis Industries in Eastlake, Ohio, until his retirement.
Bob was an avid Cardinals fan. One of his favorite hobbies was woodworking. He enjoyed camping and fishing trips with his family. He also enjoyed taking cruises with family members and playing double pinochle.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the St. Mary School or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL, 62864.
