Deloris Ann (Thomas) Knight of Ina passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 14, 2014, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. She was a factury worker who retired from Hevi-Duty Electric in Mt. Vernon.
She was born on July 17, 1937, to Gilbert and Callie (Cook) Thomas in Point Township, Ind. She was joined in marriage to Marshall Knight on Jan. 19, 1954; he preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Brenda Harvey of Ina and Marsha Knight of McLeansboro; a granddaughter, Erica (Tennyson) Williams and husband Joshua along with great-granddaughters Adyson and Callie of McLeansboro; four grandsons, Marshall Shane Tennyson and wife Felicia along with great-grandsons Connor, Landon and Owen of Salem, Marshall Dean Knight Harvey of Ina, Noah Tennyson of St. Louis, Tristin Cain of McLeansboro; a brother, Lloyd Thomas and wife Betty of Springerton; a special uncle and aunt, Oscar and Darlene Cook; brothers-in-law, Victor Knight and wife Janet, David Knight and wife Sharon, Dalton Knight and wife Margaret and John Knight and wife Geraldine; sisters-in-law, Faye Lee and husband Ron, Frances Branch, Patsy Harrawood, Ladonna Young and Lois Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Old Christian Chapel Church and regularly attended services until poor health. She will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Dean Thomas; a cousin, Larry York; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Knight and wife Dorothy, Eulan Branch, Donald Harrawood and William E. Smith Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Old Christian Chapel Church in Bungay. The Rev. Jack Stone will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Mourners are asked to be at Gholson Funeral HOme at 10 a.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Old Springer Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Old Christian Chapel Church and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
