Donald D. McMahon, 76, of Opdyke, died 5:03 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Sunday, March 20, 1938, in Bonnie, the son of Madison and Hala (Baker) McMahon. He married Linda Voyles on March 14, 1981, in Bonnie.
Donald was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church in Bonnie and Cubb Cemetery Association. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda McMahon of Opdyke; children, Debi Reinke and husband Karl of Bethalto, Becky Algozzino and husband Marc of Denver, Rick McMahon of Mt. Vernon, Kim Reinke of Denver, Hedy Edwards of Opdyke, Matt Sursa and wife Susan of Opdyke and Adam Sursa and wife Diane of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Roselyn Grant and husband Jim of Bonnie; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ken McMahon.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church in Bonnie with the Rev. Russell Wolfe and the Rev. David Mishler officiating. Interment will be at Cubb Cemetery in Jefferson County.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
