---- — Ethel Lois Rose, 88, of McLeansboro, died 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Heritage Woods in McLeansboro.
She was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Victor Earl and Ruby (Sneed) Wisley. She married Thomas Benny Rose on July 17, 1942, and he preceded her in death.
She was retired from the laundry department at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was a member of Pleasant Union Congregational Christian Church near McLeansboro.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara (fiance David Musgrave) Murdach of McLeansboro and Sheila (husband John R.) Taylor of McLeansboro; son, Richard (wife Jane) Rose of Cobden; five grandchildren, Lisa (Todd) Cottle, Gregory (Donna) Murdach, David (Annie) Murdach, Victor Scott Rose and Bethany Floyd; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Louise Edwards and Berniece Nelson.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Jay Vineyard officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to Shriners Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
