Nelda Faye Waller, 83, of Mt. Vernon, died 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her home in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1929, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Roy and Eltha Tennessee Willson. She married William Waller on June 21, 1952, in Shawneetown. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1988.
Nelda worked in the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory for several years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Mission Baptist Church and loved fishing.
She is survived by daughter, Jacqueline Sue Karch and husband Artie of Mt. Vernon; brother, Roy Lee Wilson and wife Louise of Kansas; three sisters, Dorothy Donoho and husband Junior of Bonnie, Louise Roberts of Mt. Vernon and Annette Flanagan of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Norma Jean Waller; three sisters, Catherine Smith, Winona Wilson and Arste Hankenseiker; and one brother, Winston Wilson.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at East Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County with Brother Philip Webb officiating. Interment will be at East Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County.
