Shyh Song


MT. VERNON — Shyh C. Song, 84, of Mt. Vernon, died 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his home in Mt. Vernon.

He was born Wednesday, March 21, 1928, in Huntung, China, the son of Yinz and Yen (Soi) Song. He married Ashiu Tseng in Taiwan in 1961.

Shyh served in the Chinese Army and later owned and operated Hunan Chinese Restaurant in Mt. Vernon from 1982 to 1994.

He is survived by wife, Ahsiu Song of Mt. Vernon; sons, Yung H. Song and wife Barbara of Salem, Thomas Song and wife Christine of Mt. Vernon and Tony Song and wife Alice of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Stephanie Song of Chicago, Karen Song of Cleveland, Sonny Song of Chicago, Angel Song of Champaign and Sarah, Wesley and Daniel Song of Mt. Vernon; three brothers and two sisters, all of China; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Private family burial services will be held at a later date.
