Glodine Hatfield, 86, of McLeansboro, died 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born June 1, 1926, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Ernest and Eva (Pierce) Ray. She first married Leroy Smith; he preceded her in death. She later married Horace Hatfield; he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hatfield is survived by her sons, Daniel Smith and wife Donna Emerick of Bethalto and Michael Smith and wife Alicia of California; a daughter, Sandra Carroll and husband Gary of Indio, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Rodney Frazier, Jeremy Carroll, Stephanie Jones, Heather Smith, Ryan Smith, Adam Smith, Dylan Smith and Hannah Smith; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Gross of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; an infant son, Timothy Smith; and four sisters, Geraldine Adams, Thelma Morris, Sue Chapman and Shirley York.
Mrs. Hatfield worked many years as a seamstress at the former Elder Manufacturing Company and the former Decatur Garment Company, both in McLeansboro. She was a member of the First Assembly Church of God in McLeansboro.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Gary Carroll officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
