Juanita Story, 91, of Mt. Vernon, died 11:52 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Saturday, Nov. 26, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, Ind., the daughter of Ernest and Alberta (Anderson) Hall. She married William H. Story on Jan. 12, 1978, in Las Vegas, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1987. Juanita was a clerk at Lynn Ann Shop. She loved to dance and was a great pie baker. She was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. She is survived by special Cardinals friend, O.E. Stimson of Mt. Vernon; son, Paul Cross and wife Beverly of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Velma Gunn and husband Charles of Maumelle, Ark., Linda Goza Grothoff and husband Clarence of Mt. Vernon and Marcia Vowell and husband Tom of Mt. Vernon; two stepdaughters, Mary Lynn Yates of Mt. Vernon and Dixie Bell and husband Jim of Mt. Vernon; brother, Arthur Hall and wife Brenda of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, William “Bill” Hall and George “Bob” Hall; and one sister, Imogene Allyn.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with Brian Fuller officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
