Donna Jean Anderson, 85, of Mt. Vernon, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Centralia Manor in Centralia.
She was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Walter and Goldie (Ingram) Endicott. She married Jabe J. Anderson on July 8, 1945, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1980.
She is survived by two sons, Dan Jay Anderson of Springfield and Eric Anderson of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Peggy Lynn Troost and husband John of Akron, Ohio; grandson, Derek Jay Anderson of Springfield; brother, Lyle Endicott and wife Ann of Woodlawn; two sisters, June Phillips of Mt. Vernon and Marilyn Bush and husband Frank of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Anderson was a loved and loving mother and homemaker. Having survived many bouts of illness and the sudden loss of her husband, she was devoted to comforting others in similar circumstances. Being a lifelong member of the Central Christian Church with her husband, Donna was content and confident of God’s grace, blessings and plan for our lives.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Mr. J. Howard Kraps and Randy Sells officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given to Central Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
