Harvey L. Denham, 81, of R# 1 McLeansboro, died 3:35 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Franklin County, son of Fred and Martha (Neibel) Denham. He married Mary Clark on June 20, 1955, and she preceded him in death.
He was a retired machinist with Caterpillar Corp. in Joliet. He also worked for Wabash Valley Service Company in Belle Rive. He was also a farmer, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons, Rick Denham of McLeansboro, Terry Denham of McLeansboro and Tim (Tammy) Denham of McLeansboro; daughter, Martha Rainey of Opdyke; brothers and sisters, Vernon Denham of Joliet, Herbert Denham of Mt. Vernon and Laura Schlag of Belle Rive; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, son, Harvey; granddaughter, Alisha Denham; two brothers, Harold and Roscoe Denham; two sisters, Daisy Kerr and Roberta Jones; and one great-grandchild, William.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with the Rev. Ralph Wilton officiating. Interment will be at Richardson Hill Cemetery near Dahlgren.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
Memorials made be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
