Edward Niedbalski

MT. VERNON — — Mr. Edward A. Niedbalski, Sr., of Nashville, departed this life at the Washington County Hospital in Nashville on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at 12:40 a.m. He had attained the age of 90 years, 4 months and 24 days.

Mr. Niedbalski was born on Aug. 22, 1922, in Bolo Township, Washington County, the son of Joseph and Rose (Smugala) Niedbalski. He was united in marriage to Josephine J. Paszkiewicz on April 21, 1945, at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2009.

Edward owned and operated a dairy and grain farm with his wife Josephine. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen and the Holy Name Society.

Left to mourn his passing are his five children, Ed (Carol) Niedbalski, Jr. of DuBois, Janet (George) Bock of Ashley, Ruth (Bennie) Pinski of Nashville, Bernadette (David) Bronke of DuBois and Ronald (Mary) Niedbalski of Nashville; 20 grandchildren, Sharmin (Steve) Wagner, Gary (Melissa) Niedbalski, Susan (Cory) Schwartzkopf, Nicholas Niedbalski, Martin (Brenda) Niedbalski, Andy Niedbalski, Sandra (Gary) Kabat, Carla (Matt) Chesnek, Michael (Melinda) Bock, Matthew (special friend Stephanie Barton) Bock, Tammy (Chris) Jahnke, Joe (Amy) Pinski, Daniel (Angela) Bronke, Elizabeth (Josh) McCune, James Bronke, Jessica (Joe) Gill, Bradley (Kate) Niedbalski, Stephanie (Justin) Schnitker, Matthew (Erica) Niedbalski and Michele (special friend Andrew Schomaker) Niedbalski; 30 great-grandchildren, Jody (fiancee Kelly Meier), Kelsea, Hannah, Megan, Emery, Lydia, Dustin, Taryn, Sarah, Madison, Malayna, Caitlin, Allis, Oliver, Jason, Bailey, Maggie, Kinzie, John, Eric, Tyler, Todd, Colleen, Ethan, Bennett, Josephine, Johnathan, Gwen, Blake and Noah; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josephine; two brothers, Frank (Anna) Niedbalski and Leo (Helen) Niedbalski; four sisters, Mary (Albert) Paszkiewicz, Stella (Ted) Pinski, Frances (Frank) Krus and Sister Mary Berchmans; and two great-grandchildren, Cindy Marie Jahnke and Kenneth George Wagner.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Bernard Goedde officiating and with interment in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m.

The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorial contributions can be made to the St. Ann School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Campagna Funeral Home.
