Theodore “Ted” Gajewski, 72, of Woodlawn, died 8:52 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at his home in Woodlawn.
He was born Sunday, Oct. 27, 1940, in Jefferson County, the son of Benedict and Margaret (Stelmaszewski) Gajewski. He married Pamela Siuda on Nov. 14, 1959, in Woodlawn.
Ted was assistant manager at Valley Steel Company in Irvington for 35 years and later worked for Continental Tire Corporation for 16 years until retiring in 2008. He was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Gajewski of Woodlawn; son, Ted. D. Gajewski and wife Anita of Fairview Heights; daughter, Tonya Harvey and husband Terry of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Maria Jordan and husband Ben of San Francisco, Micah Gajewski of Fairview Heights and Ciara Harvey of Mt. Vernon; great-grandson, Atticus Jordan of San Francisco; brother, Richard Gajewski and wife Carolyn of Richview; three sisters, Joann Berlin and husband David of Mesa, Ariz., Janiece Armes and husband Roy of Edgerton, Wis. and Caroline Quinn and husband Ted of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a child, Evaline Gajewski.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Mr. Randy Sells officiating. Interment will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
