Jerry Lee Wegmann, 74, of Woodlawn, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Saint Louis.
Jerry was born March 28, 1938, in Woodlawn, to Edward Julius and Zelda Margaret (Piercy) Wegmann. He married Patricia Germann and she preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2005.
He was a member of Mt. Catherine Christian Church in rural Woodlawn. Jerry was a Master Mason and a member of the Tipton Lodge 226 in Munford, Tenn. Jerry was a retired Master Chief in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was a horse trader/picker before picking was cool. Jerry owned and operated the Ole Feed Store Antique & Swap Shop in Woodlawn
Mr. Wegmann is survived by his son, Michael Wegmann and wife Julia of Apex, N.C.; sister, Sue Eckhardt of Wentzville, Mo.; brother-in-law, Wayne Germann; sister-in-law, Sue Fuller; four nieces, Lana Brookman and husband Gary, Shelly Connaway, Marsha Yandell and husband Scott and Christa Hendren and husband Larry; five nephews, Robert Germann and wife Bethany, Jerry Germann and wife Stephanie, Jayson Germann and wife Heather, Bryan Fuller and Todd Fuller and wife Luce; and also many other beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat Wegmann; brother, Harold Edward Wegmann and wife Jean; infant brother, Billy Dale Wegmann; one brother-in-law, Steve Eckhardt; sister-in-law, Carol Germann; and brother-in-law, Butch Fuller.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Masonic rites will be held 7 p.m. Saturday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Military flag presentation will follow conducted by the American Legion Post 141 in Mt. Vernon. Interment will be held at a later date in the Chesapeake Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Great Bridge, Va.
