Norma Elaine Crider, 80, of Mt. Vernon, went to be with her Lord at 10:06 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
Norma was born in Woodlawn on July 13, 1933, the daughter of Roscoe and Thelma (Beaver) Troutt. She had one brother, Gene Troutt. She married Robert Crider and he survives in Mt. Vernon. From this union they brought four children into the Lord: Terry, Susan, Amanda and Rachel.

She lived a quiet life but prayed for her family and friends and neighbors fervently without ceasing behind the scenes. She was an avid reader and loved her pet cats.
She is survived by her children: Terry Crider, Susan Crider and Amanda Crider, all of Mt. Vernon, and Rachel Austin and husband Bryan of Texico; and two grandchildren, Levi and Lily Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gene Troutt.
