Harold Everett Minor, 78, of Keenes, died 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Sunday, March 3, 1935, in Wayne County, the son of Bert and Ruth (Wilson) Minor. He married Wilma Chambliss on April 29, 1955, in Jefferson County.
He lived on the family farm in Wayne County all of his life. Besides the love of farming, Harold also enjoyed camping, gardening and crafts.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Minor of Keenes; two daughters, Debbie Minor of New London, Mo. and Vicki Barker and husband Ron of Mt. Vernon; son, David Minor and wife Debbie of Henderson, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jill LaRue, Zachary Lewis, Jason Back, Stacy Bell and husband Bob, Adam Minor and wife Rachel and Ryan Minor; sister, Velma Williams and husband Vergil of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two stepgrandsons, Wesley Nasbitt and Jared Barker; and nine great-grandchildren, Ethan LaRue, Kelton, Alexei and Aidan Back, Katelyn and Gavin Bell, Ava and Liam Minor and C.J. Nasbitt and another great-grandchild expected in March.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Garrison Temple Cemetery in Wayne County with the Rev. Bud Storey officiating. Interment will be at Garrison Temple Cemetery in Wayne County.
In honor of his wishes, there will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend are to go directly to the cemetery.
