Loren Lee Ellis, age 86, of Centralia, passed away at 11:33 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital ER.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1926, in Orchardville, the son of Arthur and Della (Lowery) Ellis. Loren married Opal (Sharp) on Jan. 15, 1948, in Jefferson County, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2010.
Mr. Ellis is survived by two daughters, Cathy Green and Paula Ross and husband Eddie, both of Centralia; two grandchildren, Chad Ross and wife Stacy of Breese and Ryan Ross and wife Becki of Shiloh; stepgrandchildren, Steve and Terry Green of Louisville, Ga., Carol Collins of Hephzibah, Ga. and Doug Green and Amy Green of Texico; great-grandchildren, Ella Ross, Alex Ross, Matty Ross and Jack Ross; four stepgreat-grandchildren; four stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Norman Donoho.
He had been a resident in Centralia since 1960. He was member of Calumet Street Christian Church. He enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball games. He enjoyed working and being outdoors. He was very devoted to reading his bible.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia with John Willis officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Lowery Cemetery near Keenes. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 446 and V.F.W. Post 2055 at the funeral home.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the St. Judes Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at the Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia, who is in charge of arrangements.
