Hazel W. Houseworth, a resident of Paisley, Fla., formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 11:45 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Florida Hospital Deland in Deland, Fla.
She was born in Hamilton County, the daughter of Ben and Alta (Irvin) Williams. She married Herschel L. Houseworth on Oct. 12, 1941, in St. Louis and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1984.
Hazel worked for the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory and later at Good Samaritan Hospital and Jeffersonian Nursing Home in the dietary department. She was a member of Central Christian Church.
She is survived by son-in-law, Gregory “Sonny” Watson of Paisley, Fla.; grandson, Jamie Faulkner and wife Jessica of Norfolk, Va.; two nieces, Paula Green and Paralee Scrivner; and nephew, Bill Scrivner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sondra Watson; two sisters, Nina Scrivner and Thelma Scrivner; two brothers, Eugene Williams and Bill Williams; and two nephews, John and Larry Scrivner.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn with Mr. Randy Sells officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
In honor of Hazel’s wishes, no visitation will be held.
