Thelma J. Terry, 73, of McLeansboro, passed away 8:05 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at her residence in McLeansboro.
She was born Oct. 14, 1940, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Cecil Howard Browning and Imogene R. (Hungate) Browning. She was married to Jackie Lee Terry on Dec. 26, 1957, in McLeansboro.
She was a homemaker. Thelma attended Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro. She loved flowers and crafting.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Terry of McLeansboro; one daughter, Theresa Barker (Larry) of Dardenne Prairie, Mo.; one son, Toby Terry of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Derek Barker, Amanda Barker, Ashley Jones (husband Shawn) and Brian Terry; great-grandson, Finley Lawrence Jones; sister, Carol Zelenik of West Mont; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Tony Lee and Tina Louise; and sister, Dorothy Simmons.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro with Sister Ruby McDowell and Pastor Alan Spangler officiating. A private family burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro.
