Wylodine Miller, 74, of Mt. Vernon, passed away 11:49 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at her home in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Crenshaw, Miss., the daughter of Ernest Pasley and Pankie (Watts). She married Robert Lee Miller on April 7, 1955, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2000.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her son, Maurice Miller of Mt. Vernon; two daughter-in-laws, Renee Miller of Racine, Wis. and Clarice Jackson of Chicago; one sister, Ernest Jean Carter and husband James of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Andrew Taylor of Chicago and Willy Watts and Esther of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Miller and sons, Melvin Miller and Richard Miller.
Wylodine was a member of the Salvation Clinic in Mt. Vernon.
Funeral services for Wylodine Miller will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church (1309 South 9th Street Mt. Vernon, IL) with Pastor Tim Goodwin and Evangelist Betty Gradford officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
