Kevin Harvey Neal, 52, of Effingham, died at 7 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at his home in Effingham.
He was born Nov. 16, 1961, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Harvey Duke Neal and “Ellen” Mae (Arthur) Bell.
Kevin worked in landscaping and construction. He was a member of Effingham Assembly of God Church and he loved hunting, fishing and playing video games.
He is survived by his mother, Ellen Bell of Effingham; four brothers, Richard Applegate, Steven Neal, Ed Neal and Mike Roberts; three sisters, Linda Hieleman, Carol Applegate and Sharon Butler; three sons; one daughter; 36 nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Duke Neal and sister, Dawn Applegate.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. David Shores officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
