Charlotte Fern Heinzmann, 74, of Iuka, died 9:38 a.m. April 30, 2014, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born April 4, 1940, in Tonti Township, the daughter of Oliver T. Duncan and Linnie Mae (Albert) Duncan. She was married to Dwaine Heinzmann on March 31, 1957, and he survives in Iuka.
Charlotte loved spending time with family and friends. Her love for God and church was strong. Her passion was cooking. She shared her love by cooking for her church, friends and family. She was retired, having worked as a secretary at Shakespeare Oil Company and a cashier at Huck’s. She was a member of Woodlawn Church in Iuka.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Rodney Heinzmann and wife Liz of St. Peter, Chonita Meyer and husband Jerry of Burrton, Kan. and Lyndell Heinzmann of Kinmundy; sisters, Eva Jett of Salem, Jessie Morris and husband Dale of Salem and Shirley Jones of Salem; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Herman Duncan and Warren Duncan; and sisters, Velma Everman, Alice Maxey, Rita Phillips and Juanita Duncan.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem with Bill Cash officiating. Interment will be at Paradise Cemetery in Salem.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the family.
