A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m Saturday, May 17, at the Bluford Ruritan Building in Bluford, honoring Meda Opal (Breeze) Blake of Phoenix and formerly of Mt. Vernon.
Opal died Feb 21, 2014, in Phoenix. Burial was in Phoenix.
She was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Benton, the daughter of Lester and Meda (Miller) Breeze.
She married Jack Blake on March 27, 1956, in Chicago. They later divorced.
Mrs. Blake is survived by friend, Terry Duncan; son, David Blake and wife Patricia of Centralia; daughters, Debra Totten and Melissa Blake-Lowman; eight granchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Albright and Peggy Porter of Mt. Vernon; and three brothers, Ronald Breeze of Wayne City, Dean Breeze and wife Louise of Fairfield and Gale Breeze and wife Shirley of Bluford. Gale has since died on March 5, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; a great-granddaughter; and four brothers, Clifford, Oran, John D. and Donald all of Bluford.
Mrs. Blake sold real estate for several years before opening a secretarial agency, Secretaries Plus. She moved to Phoenix in 1986 upon retirement.
